Isabel Freund graduated from Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany, with a Master degree in Technical Biology. During her studies, she gained experiences in cell culture, biochemistry, microbiology and molecular biology. Isabel wrote her thesis about novel AMPK activators at Sanofi-Aventis Deutschland GmbH, where she is still employed.

Isabel joins the laboratory of Biology, Biochemistry, Physiology and Microbiology of Prof. George Dedoussis in the Department of Dietetics and Nutritional Sciences at Harokopio University of Athens. In her 3-month secondment, she will support the team in the clinical trial on the efficacy of Mastiha supplement in NAFLD/NASH patients and will analyze microRNAs in different samples.
